We are deeply saddened by the news today that legendary house music DJ & Producer Frankie Knuckles passed away yesterday in Chicago aged 59.

Frankies pioneering ideas about music, DJing & seminal production have always been a massive influence on us here at Soul of Sydney, he changed the way we listen to music and was is one of the DJ’s that made us fall in love with that true spirit of house music.

As one of the forefathers of the sounds we love, his music was and continues to be a monumental influence on us, the music world lost an absolute legend today, one whos helped shape the sound that changed the world.

Rest in Peace Frankie Knuckles
