Björk hat heute das unzensierte Musikvideo zu „Pagan Poetry“ auf YouTube veröffentlicht. Das Video aus dem Jahr 2001 von Nick Knight zählt laut Rolling Stone zu den 15 „most NSFW Music Videos of All Time“ und der NME packte es in seine Liste mit 20 kontroversesten Musikvideos aller Zeiten.
The video is described as being about „a woman preparing herself for marriage and for her lover“. It features highly blurry and stylized images of explicit sex from Björk’s personal footage, including fellatio and ejaculation, and images of large needles sewing pearls to skin.[8] The second half of the video features Björk in a dress designed by Alexander McQueen, which covers only the lower portion of her body. The upper portion of the dress consists of pearls piercing her skin, which is shown throughout the first half.[9] The video ends with a shot of a Corset piercing.
