The video’s arrival is timely and appropriate, as the recent killings of Terence Crutcher and Keith Lamont Scott — along with many other deaths — continue to plague black communities. „Black children, they childhood stole from them, robbed of our names and our language, stole again“ the Chicago native raps. Holding nothing back, Common continues to vent: „I know that black lives matter and they matter to us, these are the things we gotta discuss. The new plantation, mass incarceration, Instead of educate, they’d rather convict the kids.“
