Das wohl schönste Cover, was ich seit einiger Zeit gehört habe, kommt von Midnight Lion. Warum ich es nicht bei mir bringe? Weil ich nichtmal ansatzweise so Prince-Addicted bin, wie der Herr Ehrich hier. Darum pack ich euch diese tolle Version von Prince‘ Welthit „When Doves Cry“ hier mit rein.
We wanted to do a cover as a bit of a break from spending our days writing and recording our own material. We chose „˜When Doves Cry“™ because we wanted to record a song that people would know but that we could mess around with a bit and make our own. The track is so strong lyrically and melodically that we thought we could strip it back and highlight those aspects. It was a bit of a risk as Prince is one of those artists whose music you probably shouldn“™t touch but we love the original so much we thought it was worth a shot.
The video is filmed in an amazing studio we“™ve used a couple of times before in Strathaven near Glasgow. Its based in and old mill and at some point was a theatre there and they“™ve left the stage and lighting rig in there for some reason.
