Returning for another onslaught of shows, Glasper hopes his audience is as ready as he is for 5 weeks of epic collaborations and unexpected surprises.
Robert Glasper is the leader of a new paradigm in jazz, with a career that spans musical and artistic genres, winning 3 Grammys and 6 nominations across 5 categories, as well as an Emmy for his song on Ava Duvernay’s doc “13th“.
October 2019 marks his return to the Blue Note, one of his first jazz stomping-grounds, for another month long Residency (coined “Robtober”) as he takes over the Blue Note New York with an unprecedented 5 week celebration of his musical career.
Whilst his style consistently defies definition, Glasper’s residency demonstrates not only different eras, but also various parts of his musical community and the impact his collaborators have had on his development and style.
Robert Glasper’s J Dilla Tribute shows from October 24-27 will benefit the Save The Music Foundation and their J Dilla Music Tech Grant. To learn more about the grant, visit savethemusic.org/jdilla. To support Save The Music’s work, donate at savethemusic.org/robertglasper.
Im Rahmen seine Residency im Blue Note spielt Glasper an 28 Abenden insgesamt 56 Shows.
